Peaches, peaches, and more peaches that’s what we have going on at my house right now. I’ve already made peach pancakes, peach cake, canned peaches and I still have more peaches to use. Tonight for FHE, we decided to have home made peach ice cream. This recipe comes from a little recipe book compiled of recipes from my church ward in Eugene Oregon. It was made and sold as a fund raiser for girls camp. Lots of gems in this book. This recipe is for a big ice cream freezer. I just have a smaller electric Cuisinart one, so I have to cut it in 3rds to make it fit in my ice cream freezer.
PEACH ICE CREAM
- 2 peaches
- 1 C sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 3 Tbsp orange juice concentrate
- 1 1/3 C Milk
- 1 1/3 C half and half
- 1 C whipping cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Mix together peaches, sugar, lemon juice, and orange juice concentrate and let sit about 30 minutes.
- Mix in milk, half and half, whipping cream, and vanilla.
- Then, I put it all in mu Cuisinart ice cream freezer until it has the consistency of a milk shake and then I usually pour that into a tupperware container and throw that in my freezer to ripen until ready to serve.
